These copper red and purple mugs get their colour from small amounts of copper that have been fired in a reduction atmosphere over a porcelain clay body. The two different glazes have been layered in a very specific way to give a special mottled effect.
For food safety reasons, the inside of the cup is a transparent glaze.

Reduction fired for 12 hours up to 1280°C
