This collection of small bud vases are individually wheel thrown and reduction fired for rich, varied surfaces. Their simple form suits both fresh and dried flowers, or they can be displayed as sculptural objects on their own adding a small touch of handmade character to any space.

This glaze gets its colour from a combination of iron, titanium and zirconium whilst the texture comes from a magnesium based glaze paired with specific ratios of silica and alumina.

The mottled colour effect is the result of crystal growth in the cooling down stage of the firing whilst the dark speckling comes from iron in the dark stoneware clay body which has bled through the glaze due to a reduction fired atmosphere.
